Orca whales are kings of the sea. They are strong and very intelligent and emotional
creatures. They inspire us to embrace compassion and nurture meaningful connections,
knowing that when you work together, you grow better together.
I’ve realized I need more connection in my life. In my studio, making sources last week I
really wanted to paint an orca whale and I had no idea why. I’m not a big fan of the ocean
and/or usual ocean paintings. Though, I decided to paint it anyway. Researching and
learning about orcas I now know why I wanted to paint this piece. Orcas are very wise and
have strong bonds with their pods. I’ve been lacking that lately. Dreaming of orcas can
sometimes remind us to care about your relationships with our family and friends and how
we need them. Orcas can also represent balance, strength, and power. Gliding through the
ocean, orca whales can also symbolize the desire for freedom. Painting this piece inspired
me to have the strength to face the problems I have at the moment with confidence and
grace. Painting can open up new emotions and feelings you’ve never experienced.
